When the old airport of what is now the Riem Exhibition Centre was redeveloped for housing, a multi-storey residents' car park was included. The building was designed as an open car park, as defined in the building regulations. To counteract the repetitive monotony of its fourteen levels, a 15 metre long, 1.5 metre high and 25 centimetre thick parapet element was designed. The panels are combined straightforwardly, rotated and mirrored so that their undulating edges create free-flowing lines in the façade.
