Benjamin Foerster-Baldenius developed the self-help project “House
Garden – Building without Building Permission” in a typical
allotment garden in Berlin. The project consisted of three components:
a “sculpture”, a “summerhouse” and a “greenhouse”:
all three categories can be classified as “permission-free building
projects” according to Section 56 of the Berlin building regulations.
