| This house in a suburb of Augsburg, was built against
considerable opposition from the local building authorities and
immediate neighbours. At first glance,
the two-storey residential building appears somewhat defiant and
fragile in its environment, although it radiates self-confident
openness and modernity. For the architect, who had for years been
strongly influenced by his work for Richard Meier, this house
completes his reorientation towards a new aesthetic and new materials.
